The Pacific is an innovatively designed 14 unit, infill apartment building that will provide much needed rental housing in the Capri area of Kelowna, one of five priority Urban Centres for future growth and revitalization.  NIDO partnered with Hugh J. Bitz Architect to design a high performance, energy efficient building based on Passive House principles.  These include:

• High-Performance Windows and Doors

• Heat Recovery Ventilation

• Thermal Bridge Free 

• Airtight Building Envelope

• Efficient Heating/Cooling via Mini-Split Heat Pumps

 

The lower level features bachelor and one-bedroom units, the second and third floors will have two-storey suites with one to two bedrooms. This configuration avoids a corridor on the upper floor which maximizes the usable living space in each suite.  By minimizing circulation space, private outdoor space is provided to each suite.
